High Ticket Affiliate Marketing For Beginners

Are you interested in high ticket affiliate marketing for beginners? Perhaps you’ve heard of high ticket affiliate marketing already? If not, it’s well worth your time. Before I found high ticket affiliate marketing, I was struggling in a big way as an affiliate. I chose to promote the products I would buy myself – such as low value products from Amazon and eBay.

As a result, when I made an affiliate sale, I earned a tiny commission. This fact was compounded by the problem that I didn’t make sales very often, hence I struggled to make much for several years when I was a beginner affiliate.

However, once I discovered high ticket affiliate marketing after finding an online video series online, things began to change. A high ticket item is a much more expensive item than most products you’ll find online. So when you make a sale, you earn a much larger commission.

Here’s an example of a high ticket physical products you can find on a site called Hammacher Schlemmer. It sells for $300,000 and their affiliate program pays 8% commission for a referral which means if you can sell one of these baby’s you’ll earn a cool $24,000!

Now before you jump to any assumptions such as “nobody can afford such an expensive toy” as I might have done several years ago, just reconsider. While this may be an outlandish toy to some, for millionaires or even billionaires it’s well within their means.

It’s a big mistake to assume (as I did) that most people are as poverty stricken as you might be! With the internet you have the ability to get your affiliate link in front of anyone, once you’ve learned how to do it. So do you want to sell a $5 book from Amazon for 1% commission, or a $300,000 submarine for $120,000?

So although you may not be in the market for a submarine, some people are. As affiliates we earn commissions from online referrals and if we intend to make our living from affiliate marketing we need to think outside the box in order to do so.

Most people however aren’t in the business of buying such expensive items online. But once you’ve learned to sell an affiliate product, it makes sense to sell the ones which pay the most.

Other high ticket items which are in more demand are online business courses for example. With a business course or series of tutorials aimed at helping people earn online, there’s a much, much bigger audience.

These types of high ticket affiliate product do attract a greater audience than toys for millionaires. Many people do want to ditch their 9 to 5 job and earn a living online, so these can be good products to sell. Learn more in this free video series.

Other Advantages Of Selling High Ticket Items – Using Paid Advertising

A high ticket item will give you a commission which is upwards of $500. Generally speaking, most affiliates will choose products which sell for $100 or thereabouts. Clickbank.com for example, a site popular with beginner affiliates, will have a lot of products for sale at around the $100 mark. Since Clickbank offers digital products, commissions are often quite high at around 30-40%.

Again, this is the benefit of promoting high ticket digital products – because not only are they products of high value, but also they offer higher commission structure than your typical physical product. Physical products typically pay between 1% and 10% commissions whereas digital products pay a lot more – often between 30% and 40% commission.

Another advantage of selling high ticket items is the ability to scale more easily into the higher earning brackets. With a low value offer, it’s more difficult finding a profitable paid advertising campaign; there’s less scope for profit if you only make $40 on an item than if you make $400 on a sale.

The larger profit gives you more room for error as a beginner too, when setting up and testing advertising campaigns which you’re unfamiliar with. Once you’re profitable you can easily add more marketing budget to a campaign once it’s working.

Organic Marketing Vs Paid Advertising

With a low value product, trying to be profitable can be tricky if only make $10 on a sale, for example. Often then, affiliates promoting low value items will tend towards finding organic methods of marketing, which are harder to scale up and difficult to get traction with.

With paid marketing, once you’ve done the initially difficult part of testing advertising campaigns (to find a profitable campaign), you can leave it running forever, once it’s consistently generating profit. Add budget to it and scale up for fast growth. This is much more difficult to do if you’re using an organic marketing strategy such as content marketing – blogging or video blogging, for example.
