Before I found digital marketing coaching near me I struggled online for some time. I became an affiliate in the early 2000’s after purchasing a couple of programs.
Each of them taught a different strategy to make sales online so I was confused to say the least. In 2014 I found a coaching program with members based in the UK, but also with members around the world. It was the first time I actually met another affiliate in person. Before that I could only buy affiliate courses by often dubious marketers who were there today and gone tomorrow. As such the whole affiliate marketing business seems rather dubious!
I was still massively sceptical in 2014 and half expected my first meet up to be an empty garage after they had taken my money! Such was my level of scepticism! Learning digital marketing takes some time and not everyone wants to be an affiliate. I myself had a martial arts school and I was struggling getting people to join it. The marketing I learned through doing the affiliate business helped me learn the skills I could then apply to my school for marketing.
One of the best ways to learn digital marketing is with a pre-built business model which has a range of high ticket items within it to sell. A high ticket product “suite” gives you a lot of scope for running paid advertising. You can more easily recoup your marketing budget (and becoming profitable) while you learn with such a model.
As a beginner in affiliate marketing, I chose low value products to sell, such as books on Amazon. What I didn’t understand was that it’s much harder to learn marketing in any meaningful way when you’re constantly losing budget without making a profit on your sales. With a low priced offer it’s much more difficult which explains why so many affiliates (and businesses in general) close their doors within a few years. You also need a product which sells and to understand exactly who you’re selling to. Otherwise the whole experience is super frustrating.
